DIY Sploof – Mask the Pot Smell
Posted on: March 14, 2010Here’s a simple DIY item you can make with easily accessible household items to hide/reduce the smell of pot from whom ever you choose. Best thing about this is it’s reusable and portable. Great to keep in your car if you don’t want to stink up the interior. Only flaw with this contraption is it won’t stop the smoke coming from your pipe or joint, but otherwise great for reducing the over smell and adding a nice fresh smell.
Some items you’ll need are:
1. Paper towel tube.
2. 3-4 sheets of Bounce (or similar) dryer sheets. We like to use 4 sheets.
3. Tape
Take 3 sheets of the Bounce sheets and begin to stuff them in on one end of the paper towel tubes.
Once that’s complete, take the last dryer sheet and fold it in half twice.
Now tape that last sheet to the end of the paper towel tube with the stuffed dryer sheets. Now you have it, a sploof, a device to keep that smell of pot to a minimum. That only took a couple of minutes and the cost is pretty much negligible. Enjoy!

all you gotta do is pack yourself some one-hitters, works best with a bong just take one big toke so theres nothing left in the bowl and exhale everything through the sploof. might have to repack a few times but then theres no excess pot smell!
or, close bthroom door, turn on shower (hot). worked for me. might use it to keep neighbors from smelling so much.

I’ve tried this before and it seems to be easier to just smoke at the window with a fan. It’s not hard to keep excess smoke from the pipe leaking out if you make sure it doesn’t stay lit and if you hold your fingers over the pipe top (if it’s a metal slide or bowl you can lay a quarter or nickel on the bowl head as well)
We called them “de-horkers” back in the day LOL

I smoke in my dorm room all the time! The sploof works great! But it needs to also be used with a fan… If you open your window, put a fan facing out the window, put a dryer sheet on the fan, and then blow smoke through the sploof in front of the fan. Works like a charm every time!! Ooh and make sure you light your pipe/bong in front of the fan, so that any excess smoke goes right out the window thanks to the suction of the fan! I’ve never been caught by my RA’s and I smoke almost every day
LOL…siiiick…I wish I had this for those cold winter nights I had to smoke outside of my school residence.
This absolutely does not work. I have tried it several times, altering the design each time. This is no way to mask the smell.

What Flames said, cuz I am bout to smoke a blunt n I was gonna use that so could smoke it in my bed, but how does that work with a blunt still stanky lol. would you do the bounce on both ends, cut a hole for your blunt and then smoke in that lol.
You can give that a try and let us know. But like we said in the post, its only good to cut back on the skunk smell.
I did not try it, n I wont be able to since I dont got no blunt or bud and about be on probation, any one else wanna try go ahead lol
LOL…makes sense why you want this now…hahaha…we’ll see what we can do to help you out. Might take some time though.
It partly works, however you need to consider the fact that your holding a joint, pipe, bong. you may blow your smoke through this tube and it will be filtered but the smoke from your joint is still being exposed to the air in your room.
